In a carefully restored brick factory in Berlin-Mitte is SOFI – our bakery, which is dedicated to honest, traditional craftsmanship and the taste of cereals. SOFI is a collaboration between Danish chef and restaurateur Frederik Bille Brahe and Slowness – Slowness is an experimental hospitality collective building and nourishing a network of locally rooted places that offer a deeper, more conscious form of travel and gastronomic experience.

As part of the operational management team at SOFI, the Accountant will assume an important role in the overall financial management of the company. The Individual will have primary day-to-day responsibility for preparing books, accounts reconciliations, cash management and other financial-related activities of SOFI bakery. You will contribute to a work environment that is respectful, considerate, team-oriented and open to dialogue. We are looking to fill this position starting on 1st March 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly bookkeeping for our external accountant
  • Reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Preparation and execution of weekly payment runs
  • Invoice approval and creation according to tax requirements
  • Active liaison with tax consultant
  • Assisting in the setup for finance tools and supporting controlling needs
  • Assisting SOFI Management in various topics like data maintenance, vendor management, etc.

Requirements

  • BA, or higher-level degree in accounting or related fields
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an accountant, or similar roles
  • Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, especially HGB
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
  • High level of integrity and dependability
  • Strong personality with an ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization

  • Support the planning and execution of content and editorial projects.
  • Help oversee creative processes.
  • Contribute to the launch and positioning of Flussbad and other Slowness projects.
  • Support in engaging audiences through effective communication and documentation of Campus programming, partnerships, community involvement, and membership initiatives.
  • Help track, analyze, and report on brand and communication KPIs and budgets.

Requirements

To support our team in charge of the developments in Berlin, we are looking for an Intern Project Management to support with the management of critical paths, overall timelines, and third-party requirements for our Flussbad Campus - a home for adventurous culture & ideas. Beginning its phased opening in 2023, the campus encompasses exhibition spaces, gastronomy, creative studios and workspaces, holistic health offerings and a semi-subterranean performance space inspired by ancient temples—all integrated into the wild riverfront environment.

Slowness will offer you an unparalleled internship experience in a beautiful location by Spree River in Berlin- Rummelsburg. You will learn about different aspects of developing not only places, but destinations, and get insights into our Flussbad project. You will get the chance to support our team in building a competence center around holistic health facilitating the most advanced practices around nutrition, movement, and mindfulness. You will work closely with the Project Manager and get insights into the creative guidance of the project in collaboration with the respective architects and designers, the operational set up, and pre-opening activities.

You will work in close collaboration with our Commercial Director.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate incoming event inquiries for Reethaus & qualify leads
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to create tailored offers based on client budgets
  • Implement and contribute to sales strategies to maximize visibility and occupancy of the venue
  • Support in pricing negotiations, develop customized proposals, and oversee contract finalization
  • Host and guide site inspections, offering personal consultations to prospective clients
